Dolphin browser is now available for iPhone
The
browser responds to predefined gestures with certain actions — for
example, when the users draw the letter V on the screen, the browser
takes them to the bottom of the webpage.
MoboTap,
the mobile technology development company, has introduced a new version
of its popular Dolphin browser designed to work on the iPhone and iPad.
The free Internet browser was first launched for the Android operating
system. The Dolphin browser for Android was launched in March 2010
whereas the company signed a deal with Softbank Japan to develop a
social browser for it.
The Dolphin browser simplifies navigation with the use of tabs as
well as two sidebars. The browser also uses speed dial feature so the
users can easily access their favourite websites along with a smart
address bar which auto-completes the URL when users are entering it.
"Dolphin Gesture allow users to create personal symbols to access
websites they use the most with just one stroke." said Yongzhi Yang,
MoboTap's chief executive officer. 'We spent months redesigning Dolphin
Browser from the ground up for the iPhone and we're excited to bring
this new experience to millions more."
Another notable feature of the browser is Webzine which gives
thumbnails of webpages. In the touch gestures feature of the browser,
the browser responds to predefined gestures with certain actions — for
example, when the users draw the letter V on the screen, the browser
takes them to the bottom of the webpage. Users just have to touch the
finger button at the bottom to access the touch gesture box in the
browser. Sometimes, these features appear so convenient in the mobile
browser it is difficult to fathom how Safari missed including these
features.
Just like the desktop browser, users also have the option to open new
tabs in the dolphin browser. Users also have the option to go to the
desktop mode of a webpage when they don't want to view the mobile
configured version of the webpages of that site.

Google releases ICS update for Samsung Nexus S
Android Ice Cream Sandwich will bring several new features to the device.
Google
has quietly released the Android Ice Cream Sandwich update for its
older Google Nexus S devices. The Nexus S smartphones will gate the
Android 4.0 instead of the recently announced Android 4.0.3. The update
has started rolling out as of now and will continue for the entire month
but only for the GSM version of Nexus S.

The update will bring considerable changes form the existing Android
Gingerbread operating system and the users will require some time
getting used to the newly added features. For example, for scrolling
through the applications in Gingerbread users needed to swipe their
finger up, and down for browsing the applications.
In Ice Cream Sandwich, however, users will have to swipe right to
left for browsing applications. More such tips for accessing and usage
help can be accessed from this link.
The update has started rolling out to devices around the globe but
users will have to wait until they get a notification on their device
for the update.

The Mobile Indian will bring you the first look of the Android Ice
Cream Sandwich operating system as and when we get to lay our hands on
the same.

20 most affordable 5 inch phones under Rs 10,000
Android phones with larger displays are
becoming dominant in the smartphone business. So much so that
smartphones with 5 inch or bigger displays are now eating into the 7
inch tablet market. And the reason is clear, 5 inch phones offer a
better way to utilise the extra horsepower and abilities of Android
smartphones, which otherwise get wasted because you don't enjoy surfing
the net, or playing games, or watching videos on a small display as much
as you do on a larger display.
What has so far been in the Rs 10,000 and beyond category is becoming
cheaper and now starts at Rs 6,500, making it more mass market. So here
is the part one of most affordable 5 inch Android phones.
1. Celkon A900 (Rs 5,999)
Celkon A900 is the cheapest 5 inch Android phone and yet it offers 3G and GPS. Other specifications of the phone are also decent with 800 x 480 pixel resolution display, 1 GHz processor, a 5 megapixel rear and a VGA front camera, 2000 mAh battery, and Android 2.3.6 operating system.

We do not know the RAM but it will be 256 MB at the least. For Rs 5,999 this phone is certainly a good option.
2. Videocon A45 (Rs 6,199)
Videocon A45 has a 5 inch screen and runs on a 1 GHz single core
processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It comes with a
much smaller 3.2 megapixel camera at the back and a VGA camera in the
front. It has an 1800 mAh battery.

It gets only 256 MB RAM, which is too low for a modern Android phone,
though since it is Android 2.3 you can still hope that it will work
just fine. However, it offers only 2G connectivity.
3. Micromax Canvas Viva A72 (Rs 6,499)
Micromax A72 is a dual SIM
phone with a 5 inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution display and

doesn't get 3G connectivity but supports 2G, WiFi and Bluetooth.

It is also powered by a 2000 mAh battery, which the company claims
provides talktime of up to 7 hours, and standby time of up to 280 hours.
4. Karbonn A25 (Rs 6,499)
Karbonn A25 comes with a 5 inch touchscreen with 480 x 800 pixel
resolution. The dual SIM phone runs on Android 4.0 ICS operating system
and has ambient light as well as proximity sensors. It is powered by a 1
GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM. Though it has only 512 MB
internal storage, its internal memory can be complemented up to 32 GB
through a micro SD memory card. At the back of the Karbonn A25 there is a
5 megapixel autofocus camera supplemented with LED flash for
illumination in low light conditions.

At the front there is a 0.3 megapixel camera, which is good enough
for video calling. However, there is no 3G connectivity, so video chat
is only possible when you are within a WiFi network. The device has a
2000 mAh battery pack that claims to be capable of powering it for more
than 5 hours. It certainly gets better specifications compared to Canvas
Viva, and at the same price it looks like a better deal.

Swipe Fablet F2 comes with a 1 GHz processor and 256 MB RAM and runs
on Android 2.3 operating system. While it gets a fairly large 2200 mAh

on Android 4.0 ICS operating system and comes with 4 GB internal
memory, which is expandable by up to 32 GB. The phone offers 3G, WiFi,
